Same questions.
Every product.

One transparent method, scored out of 100. No points for branding, packaging or promises. Every number should lead back to a source.

Every ranked input has a primary source and check date. Missing facts or sources older than 30 days exclude a product from ranking when the site is rebuilt. All pages use the same full-site price cohort.

What we checked.

We reviewed brand product pages and linked materials, then checked claimed sport certifications against the relevant directory. This dataset covers 16 selected products, with 8 complete enough to rank. It is not a complete survey of the Australian market. We have not purchased, tasted or laboratory tested these products.

“Verified” in the data means that the recorded fact was matched to a cited source. It does not independently confirm the chemical content of a pack or endorse a brand’s health claims.

Seven criteria. One hundred points.

Creatine per serve · 25 points

25 points at 5 g monohydrate; proportional below. This is a comparison convention, not a personal dose recommendation or a measure of efficacy.

Ingredients · 15 points

Creatine only: 15. Non-active flavour, sweetener or capsule excipients: 10. Added actives: 5. This rewards simplicity, not safety or clinical superiority.

Creatine form · 10 points

Monohydrate: 10. Other forms: 5. All current comparable doses use monohydrate mass, not anhydrous creatine equivalent.

Public batch test · 15 points

Matched, current, downloadable finished-product creatine-content report: 15. Testing claim or report without current lot match: 5. No qualifying evidence located in checked sources: 0. Unknown: unranked. Sport testing and raw-material reports do not earn 15.

Sport certification · 10 points

Matched HASTA, Informed Sport or NSF Certified for Sport listing: 10. No qualifying match located in checked sources: 0. Check your pack batch. Ingredient quality marks and manufacturing accreditation do not qualify.

Cost per 5 g · 20 points

Regular Australian pack price ÷ (labelled serves × monohydrate grams per serve) × 5. Cheapest eligible product: 20; most expensive: 0; linear between. Same full-site cohort on every page; sale, subscription and delivery costs excluded.

Label clarity · 5 points

Clearly stated, consistent grams per serving: 5. Conflicting serving definitions are withheld and cannot be ranked.

Why 5 g?

Five grams is a fixed comparison unit. It is not a minimum effective dose, a requirement for women or a reason to exceed label directions. A shorter bar simply means a smaller labelled serving. For all currently comparable products, grams refer to creatine monohydrate, not total powder, gummy weight or anhydrous creatine equivalent. The Athena label, for example, distinguishes 3 g monohydrate from 2.64 g creatine equivalent in a 6 g powder serve.

Unknown does not mean zero.

A missing price, conflicting dose or unfinished evidence check excludes a record from ranking. A completed search that finds no qualifying evidence receives zero for that evidence criterion, labelled “not located”. That is a scoped audit result, not a claim that a manufacturer never tests. Product notes explain limitations.

Price and rank rules.

Cost = regular Australian pack price ÷ (labelled serves × monohydrate grams per serve) × 5. We select one explicit pack and flavour. Sale prices, delivery, subscriptions and member discounts are excluded from the regular-price comparison. Rounded labelled serving counts are used consistently and noted.

Price points use the complete eligible dataset on every page, including head-to-head views. With only one eligible product, no total is assigned because relative cost points cannot be established. Equal costs receive equal price points. Total scores are rounded once; tied totals are ordered by lower cost, then product slug. Our ownership flag never changes the score.

Dates and corrections.

Every ranking input needs a source and check date no more than 30 days old. Freshness is evaluated when the site is updated; prices and labels can change between checks. Check the dated source and the current product label before buying. Changes require editorial review before publication.

Send a correction through Foundlab with the product, pack size, source URL and relevant batch number. We review the evidence under the same method, including evidence supplied by brands. There is no fee to correct a fact.

Version history.

v1.0 · 10 October 2026. First source-checked preview. Defines monohydrate mass consistently, scopes “not located” to checked sources, separates content tests from sport certification and excludes unresolved records. The seven original weights are unchanged.

v0.1 · 9 October 2026. Design prototype using unverified brief figures. No production rankings.
